I was thinking about investing in a new meat grinder this year and would appreciate any feedback, recommendations, and experiences you have had.

I saw a 3/4HP grinder at Cabelas for $399, which seemed like a decent deal.  Thoughts?  Am I paying up for Cabelas to license there name to the company I should buy direct from in the first place?

I have a cheap grinder that really struggles under any load to keep up. No torque and an inconsistent volume throughput.

My needs aren't much.  If I get a deer, I will be lucky.  However, when I do, I need the torque and throughput of a good unit.

As always, thanks in advance.

Peter, I myself do not have one. Friends have the Cabela's carnivore commercial grinder and love it. The $399 unit looks like a quality machine with awesome reviews...

I have had a 1 HP  cabelas  grinder for approx 30 years . I have done a few hundred deer with it.

Works great .

Also have a 1 3/4 HP cabelas grinder . I only bring it out when doing 4/5 deer at a time .

Can't keep up with that grinder it works so fast.

.

Set a good investment..
