Ticks

I have never encountered more ticks than I have this summer - must be the mild winters or something.

They seem impervious to Off Deep Woods spray.

I sprayed myself thoroughly last Sunday and as I got back to the truck - I saw swarms of the little effers climbing up both trouser legs - it was like something from a pirate film!

Be careful out there.

Just make sure your dogs get a lime vaccine. I just put my six year old setter down the other day all from a tic bite

Sad man! Sorry to hear about your pup.  Just out of curiosity, what were the symptoms that led to your terrible outcome. Back in  80s my Springer got Lyme and vet put her on  antibiotics and she recovered nicely. There was no vaccine back then. We were lucky

He stoped eating so I had my vet do some blood work and his white count was down and his potassium was up so that told us it was his kidneys so we were hope it was just a kidney infection and put him on antibiotics but after to days he got worst could not eat just no energy so I took him to the hospital they said the would run some tests and they needed3k up front so I gave it to them and the next day they called me up and said that I could come get him if I wanted nuthatch ther was nothing they could do the his kidneys were done so I asked why would I want him home and how long does he have they said a day or two so i said just put him down why would you want to let him suffer

Very sad story. You tried your best. I really don't know what to say about the 3 k bill. Where do these numbers come from for testing. I just put our older dog down and our vet mentioned possible testing. I was in a different situation. Our pup was 11.5 with multiple health problems. Hang in there.

At our club most members coat old tennis wrist and head bands in the Permethrin and let the dogs wear them as we hunt, amazing how well it works.
