After a slow start the recent rains have brought the season on.

Picked 2lb a week ago and another 1lb on 7/4.

Today went to another spot which has often been a good producer and picked 8lbs.

They are one of the best eating and easily recognized mushrooms out there in the woods - enjoy them.

Depending on the weather - they need occasional rain - the season can go until mid August...

If this is them, and they come back every year, I know where to look up here in the far NW corner if anyone is interested.  They were in about a 20' diameter patch.  I don't have enough mushroom knowledge or desire to eat them.  They looked past their prime when I took the pics in mid August.
