Nantucket Shoals Fluke

I put together a charter trip to the shoals with my son, brother, and 3 close friends who I consider my family. It was epic. We fished back to back days, turn and burn, 12 hours on the boat each day. 3.5 hour run to the grounds east of Nantucket at 13 knots in a heavy Downeaster. We ran out in 3 foot chop, but the sea laid down nice as the day wore on. Was able to bucktail with 8 oz first day, 12 oz day two. When you run a trip, you pray for fishable conditions, and that EVERYONE catches and has a good time. My prayers were answered by the big guy. Four out of 6 had personal best fluke! My buddy Tom hit DD, and my brother, son and I had 8 fish in the 9s, just an ounce or 2 under ten. Boat limit day 1, day 2 big fish moved caught 22 biggest only 7 lbs. Lol Enjoy the pics on what real fluke fishing looks like. Also, no losing bucktails fishing over rough bottom. A real pleasure not re rigging every 5 minutes. Happiness is fishing and catching doormats with your son!7619.thumb.jpeg.07751f9282b40948a536a0965d5a2193.jpeg

Been going up there for five years, this year had the largest average size! We brought home filets from thirty fish from seven to eleven pounds (two days) we gave a bunch away to others on boat! Three of us!
