Garden state animal hospital tinton falls

Any one have any experience with them. I have never used them and took one of my dogs there last nights and they are kind of scaring me. They told me they could not do nothing unless I gave them 3k and that would get him one night stay and some testing  X-rays and a visit from a specialist and that hopefully they could find what's wrong with the dog. Just seems like a lot of money to find out why he stop eating. Just seemed to me that they were more worried about getting in my wallet then the dogs health. And when I asked the girl what if I did not have the money and she just said  you can take the dog home

I used them for one of my dogs when it had cancer.  They are expensive but seemed to be good.  First took the dog to Animerge in somerville and they had the dog for several days and could not diagnose the issue, cost me over $2k for them to essentially do nothing.  I then took the dog to garden state and they literally diagnosed the dog correctly in minutes.

My neighbor took their dog there after Perryville vet couldn't figure it out.  $5800 like later they found out that the dog ate a peach pit out of the garbage and it lodged in the intestine.  It got put down.  That was a long time ago.  I'm not a vet, but couldn't an x-ray have shown this?

That's the problem I really have is this up front crap. There like give us three grand and we will do our best to find out what's going on and that being said I just feel like I'm at there mercy. I would have felt a lot better if they said leave the dog with us and we will do our best to figure this out and take care of it.  And then if they would of gave me a bill for five thousand I would be fine with it. They just seemed money hungry.

Know how you feel. Veterinary care is not what it used to be. It is all about the dollar now.

I hate the going to the vets so much money for a dog, don’t get me wrong I love my dogs but I can’t take 5000 or 10000 from my kids to pay for a we will see and no guarantees.

I had two great vets over the years one was a family friend who wouldn’t charge me office visit cost and write me med scripts for a pre existing condition without being seen every time. The other was a animal dermatologist from UPenn she was always cost effective might be high at first but will avoid 8 little test to find the same result and cost more.

both of them moved to far.

Now I go to the clinics for  shots and preventative care. They even spayed my dog for under 120 including meds and collar, which the closest vet to me wanted somewhere in the $600 range.

I try to avoid going unless it’s an emergency and even then I have to say before I go I’m not spending over x amount.

Doc just called and said limes and that it is shuting down he's kidneys and that it's not looking good. Think I will crawl inside a bottle

Who gust got off the phone with the doctor and she said that he just won't make it so I told them to put him down. I just could not go there to be with him.  I don't know how my ol man used to take them behind the wood shade. I'm truly hurting right now
