If you live in Northwest Hunterdon or thereabouts and you've never seen these guys play you need to!  They are the real deal-they live on an old farm together (when they're not touring) up here.  Their music is a mix of original stuff and covers of Marshall Tucker Band, Allman Brothers, the Byrds/Gram Parsons, old trucker songs and other '70s Country-Rock. Watching them play and going to see their shows is like what I would imagine attending a Grateful Dead show in the 1970s (I wasn't around back then... ) would be like. The crowd tends to be a mixture of hippies, bikers, cowboys, and everybody in between enjoying what Gram Parsons once coined "Cosmic American Music," or blues, country, and rock all rolled into one.  A buddy and father (and fellow outdoorsman) of one of my daughters' classmates is opening/playing with them too.  High Bridge Commons is a great venue for live music.  The town puts on a summer concert series every year at the park right at the head of the Columbia Trail.  CB Radio traditionally opens it every year with their 4th of July American Celebration. Its a very family friendly atmosphere with kids usually dancing around up by the stage and adults discretely enjoying beverages in lawn chairs a little ways back.  There are also two great local bars (Circa and Mrs. Rileys) within walking distance.

I saw them more then a few times at the Landslide. I miss that place. Good music for sure.

Even though its not Landslide anymore American Spirits is still a great music venue.

Literally nobody ever in the history of the world has described The Burns House (I still refuse to call it Mrs. Rileys bc the owner is a cunt of a human) as a "great local bar"
Circa  is a great bar though.   Rudy has always done a good job with it

Lol yes the burns house! Haven’t heard that in a while. And I agree. It will always be the Burns House.

Wouldn't know the owner of Rileys, Burns House, etc...if I fell over him.  I just like a good dive now and then.  Circa is a great place, but a little on the pricey side.  They would do a lot better if they had a good bar menu with burgers, wings, nachos, and such.

We go to Circa for lunch once a month. The food is pretty good!

I head to Cryans when I'm in the mood for a good bar menu and I'm in the HB area
