Bass/Trout Wharton State Forest

Going camping at Wharton this weekend with some friends. Was thinking of sneaking out in the early AM and getting some fishing in. Any rivers or ponds/lake for some trout or bass (not bringing the kayak)? Not looking to blow up specific spots or anything, just not familiar with that area of the state.

Wharton is big place. Lots of ponds and bogs. No trout in them.  Plenty of pickerel. Some ponds will have bass.

Pickerel all in Goshen Pond. You can fish from the banks along the campground area.

Be sure to get some Permanone for ticks and chiggers before you trek around the woods/fields/etc.  Like both said above, it's mostly pickerel, sunfish, crappie, catfish, carp and bass down here.  Few places have trout stocked and if they do, they're gone pretty quickly between people and cormorants.
