Crabs Turning On

Got out with  my buddy Bob, a retired  Navy Chief.  We tried for some fluke early morning  but found the water temperatures too cold. Incoming tide at 58 degrees! Just one short freezing his ass off wanting  to warm up on deck before  going back in.🤣 Switched  to crabbing  mode with chicken baits and traps. Caught  a wide range  of sizes and many females  with eggs.  But managed  a good solid catch  of 3/4 bushel in about  an hour and a half.  Upper Barnegat  Bay produced today.

I moved around some. Tried 10 ft, 8 ft, with little results. Dialed in on them at 6 foot depth. Also adjusted to get away from heavy cabbage in one spot.
