Looking for land

Recommended Posts

Hello,
Looking for a group of guys/club/ or land to lease. I'm in North Jersey and new to this group. Looking for people to practice quality deer management with. Mostly going to be bow hunting for deer.

Welcome to the site and good luck! There was a group looking for member on a piece scroll through this section and see if they are still looking.

Welcome Joe Roc.  We do get some club opening posts at times.  Just keep looking or searching older threads for them or for updates.  Land is tough to find in NJ despite we hunters only making up 1% of the population in this state, but it's worth trying to find and keep it!  I wish you all the best.

Welcome to the site and good luck in your search!  As mentioned, it's tough to find here in NJ, but there are clubs often looking to fill up their membership.  Keep an eye out for new postings or search the topics in this subforum.  A member just bumped on of the topics where a club was looking for members

You will need a couple thousand of acres.

I believe Thompson Management has extended their land lease auction until the end of july.  They have thousands of acres in central jersey but prior lease has first right of refusal.  I use to lease good land from them years ago in princeton where i shot a couple P&Y bucks!  White buffalo slaughtered deer on my property line ruining that prime property 😡

I agree. My son and I practice quality deer management on a 170 acre farm in Zone 8. But, there are hunters next to us that shoot everything freaking in sight.

Almost impossible in NJ. Your big buck will travel thorough  several properties every day  in the state where 120” deer is considered a shooter.

Enjoy nj hunting for what it is. Long hunting season within ability to provide meat for your family and always a chance to see some antlers.

Hey Joe- you might be interested in LandTrust which is 'Airbnb for hunting trips' on private land. We've got 18 beautiful farms representing over 1300 acres in 3 zones ~1hr from NYC in the Stewartsville area. We've also got a couple properties in the Catskills who've signed up. This is a great alternative to expensive annual leases. You can simply book trips on private land and pay for the days you actually hunt and hunt different properties throughout the season. I know it's not exactly the model you're looking for but maybe you can book some hunts this season while you're looking for your own place to lease.

We're going live with the site in a couple weeks and you can sign up here (https://nj.landtrust.com/sportsmen/) to be notified soon as we do so you can book hunting trips on these properties and more for this hunting season. I personally photographed these farms last week and they're all beautiful with corn/soybeans and woods surrounding them. Properties will have turkeys, whitetail, & geese (especially the farm right next to the Delaware!).
