Chasing River Monsters with Lil Putz

Great night on the Susquehanna in PA fishing for flathead catfish with my youngest boy. Boated over 30, kept 6 for the dinner table along with 1 channel cat. Beautiful night, river was calm and no bugs (beside a few mayflies). Most were in the 6-9# range, biggest was 19.5#. we fished about 2 miles below where the latest state record was caught (and released), so the potential is out there. A lot of guys don't fool with the belly meat, but I keep it, improves yield by almost 50%, and tastes better than the back filets, IMHO.

very nice - i hit Delaware this past sunday and hit all my best catfish spots (for channels) and not one bite.   

What was your bait of choice?

Nightcrawlers at first, then live bluegills. After they died we cut them in 1/2 and fished with that.

No, Verizon cut us off from all the outdoor shows a couple years ago. I did fish with the guy in this video a couple times in South Carolina, he's much faster than me, but I think you get the general idea.
