fish is pretty much done fighting except for a possible run or two when they harpoon it.

harpoon isn't fool proof and saw some pull out quickly, 'they use it to help get it in position for when the shoot it to bring it into the boat as extra security .

Do they shoot em to keep people from getting hurt. I’d imagine one of thise flapping around violently could do a bit of damage. We had a big Cobia in Florida wreck a guys knee

yes, anything over about 60 pounds they shot.

we brought a bunch in after we had already boxed a fish for the day.

On those they netted them,

throwing a wet towel over their eyes kept them somewhat docile,

when they weren't their tail hits the deck like a 15 pound sledge hammer

Cool video Dan. Wish my wife and I did more than one trip when we were there.

Definitely right. We only had them to 60 lbs and they have power in that tail.

im looking for one over 200 now , and hoping for even larger than that .

Can I ask how far offshore and how deep are you when fishing for them?
