Petty Darn Cool....

I've thought very seriously about utilizing a Ford E-series chassis bus or a shorter wheelbase International to convert to a camper for use on Island Beach, etc...  The long wheelbase 50 passenger buses are great for space but there is no easy way to convert them to 4WD as Rockwell 2.5 ton axles would be required to handle the weight.  Rockwells are topload only which in turn requires an excessive amount of lift.  With a Ford E-series or short wheelbase International you can easily put a Dana 60 underneath which can handle the weight of a smaller bus with no issues.  Old buses are cheap as well-DOT regulations require them to have a very limited service life, so one can typically pick up a used bus with 20-30K miles for $5,000 or so.  Now if I could just get my wife on board...

I live back in the woods you see

My woman and the kids and the dogs and me

I got a shotgun a rifle and a four wheel drive and a country boy can survive
