Great catch guys.

Too bad the government limits our access to enjoy them more on a rebuilt fishery.

Be glad they do .

Sea bass is one of the very few fisheries that is still in good shape.

No reason to need more than 10 fish a trip.

Need more spend more days on the water .

I would like to see them increase the size limit to 13 1/2 or 14 .

They give a full fillet.

Smaller fish you get a fish stick.

I am not talking about limit, I am talking about the Winter fishery that they took away. Those offshore trips in January and February were a nice way to get back on the water and share the rail with friends.

While that’s a nice fishery . I personally would rather have kids be able to keep fish in the summer time.

and it also allows every boater the chance to chase in season fish .

winter  fishery had only a few boats  being able to do so

with stock up 230% over our area population stats, why would they limit the seasons????so now with no fluke, tog, blues, porgies,a few ling and the stripers winding down every boat out there will beat on the sea bass.seems like "great" thought has gone into our fisheries mgt.

for just the reason you posted,

IF they don't limit the seasons and the catches when there is nothing else to fish for the sea bass will get hammered , and 230 percent will mean nothing.

plus they are using the rebuild number of total fish. .

lets just open it up to no limits and have to keep 100 12 1/2" fish to get the same actual amount of meat as we could 25    14" fish .

IMO the best thing they could do for the fishery is go to a 10 fish 14" minimum.

as that takes 100% of the pressure off the female sea bass.

as there are still some females that haven't changed their sex at 13"

(yes female sea bass change sex to male when they are approx. 11-13"

You are losing me with your argument. No one asked for 100 fish. All people want is a responsible fishery management which is not happening.

10 fish a trip is responsible.

limited seasons are responsible .

sea bass is about the only fish they have that is exceeding the management levels expected .

my point about a hundred fish is the size limit is still to small.

it should increase in size .

that would give more  actual fish poundage while sustaining the fish .

its 2 arguments not 1
