Spring Break Fishing Trip

Took a trip down to Charleston S.C. over spring break with my wife and son.  My daughter lives down there now, so we had a place to stay.   

First we drove about an hour to Lake Moultrie to fish for catfish.  We caught a lot of fish, but nothing over 10 pounds.  We had hoped to beat our previous record of 30 lbs.

The next day we went out of Charleston, for bull redfish.  I wanted the big ones, not the little ones in the back bays.  These can go 20-40 lbs.   Well, after about an hour of very rough conditions in the ocean, we were just about blown out of there with high winds and rough seas.   We then went in the back bays and had pretty constant action with smaller redfish and black drum, while throwing out chunks of shrimp.   A lot of fun.   We kept a few fillets for dinner the next night.  Neither trip produced the kind of fish I wanted, but of course we had great times spent together.  Thanks for looking.
