I’m in my mid - late 30’s, and finally got off my ass and got started in the field. I’ve fished my whole life, and I’ve shot clays for quite a few years. I’m just getting into archery hunting for deer, and gun hunting for small game. I have a few buddies that I hunt and fish with that are along the same experience level as me. I’m looking for some folks that will lend a hand in showing us the way to get set up and be successful. I fish and hunt primarily for meat. I’m a classically trained chef and a wine guy. Successful hunting and fishing trips usually end up in big dinners with many pairings, and lots of laughs. I live in Morristown and work in Bergen county, so any folks in between want to meet for a beer and shoot the bull? Hey ChefBrian, I am in an (eerily) similar situation. Adultish onset hunter (mid 20's) been bow hunting for 2-3 years. I hunt the Black River and Flatbrook areas as well BowhunterNJ, Live to Hunt and ChefBrian
Gunsmoke
It's basically become some weird-ass ritual for this site that catmen come out of the woodwork to greet new members. Let's hope the site doesn't start to take on a Village People type vibe. LPJR and JHbowhunter

We also have meetups throughout the year (wood cutting, BBQs, fishing trips, holiday parties, etc), you should come by and join in on the fun! Members often meet up randomly at bars/restaurants to catch up and BS too. Great way to meet like-minded individuals!

anthonyap
Always great to see people getting into the sport of hunting. I've been hunting for 30 plus years and I am still learning. Thats the beauty of it, the challenges, the adventure, the memories and the things we see and get to experience that most will never understand. Keep scouting, keep hunting, keep learning and carry on the tradition! Live to Hunt

toxo
Hi Chef Brian, welcome to NJWW. I would suggest that you join the UBNJ.They have Deer Management hunts that you can apply for.Another good group is the Bergen Bowmen, they meet the first Monday of the month in Fairlawn (Not to far from you.) They run the Mahwah Archery range. A lot of great guys to chew the fat with. A little closer to you are the Lincoln Park Archers. They have both outdoor and indoor Archery ranges.
