I dont see them close by often. They are out there, most likely laying in the weeds someplace. Also, a lot of them end up in the scrap yards. Small farm implements in working condition dont last long as food plotting is very popular. I bought mine in Ohio.

I bought my grain drill in Illinois.

You may have to burn a Saturday and do a road trip to big farm country.

There is a guy that sells them in Kutztown Pa.

If you want one bad enough, its about 1.5 to 2 hours away.

He usually has several and plan on spending  $600 +

Look out for farm auctions, ebay and craigslist.

If you buy one , buy a pull behind a little wider than your tractors rear tires. A pull behind will follow the contour of the ground better than a 3 point. A pull behind will be heavier as it uses weight instead of downward pressure to pack the dirt.

Real farm eqipmement is heavy. If its light , plan on more passes to get the job done and also lots of broken parts and more wear and tear on your tractor.

Home depot sells lawn rollers you fill with water that you can pull with a small lawn tractor or quad. They will work until you find a real one

Yea that guy in pa I found after awhile .. he spells it coultepacker instead of cultipacker.
I'm gonna build one.

I wanted 3pt because I'm planting tight spots and I need to be able to lift, and back up against downed trees and drive away.. if I get a tow behind it will be a hassle

I'll buy a tow behind and weld my own 3pt to it if I find a good deal tho.

Guy I work with bought two last week. One for his land here and one for his Ohio lease. One was in Wantage and the other in Hope. $900 for both. Pulled the axle, cleaned the housing and refilled with grease. Works like new now. Plenty of used equipment out there. These came off of Facebook marketplace

I check Facebook marketplace for coultipackers 5x a day and have it set to notify me when one comes up for sale .. nothing has shown within 30 miles of me in months. Hope is close..should have popped up.

Thanks. I have a 12" × 8ft section of culvert pipe I will build one out of. Just wanted 3 pt and now reading how tow behind is better (and way easier/cheaper to build)

My issue is in want to be able to back it up against brush and narrow strips of plot and thoight be best with a 3pt.

Now I'm leaning towards getting a boom pole and a towable. Hook the boom to the 3pt and lift it if needed boom poles are cheap. Would benefit my chain drag too.[emoji848][emoji848]

Only concern is boom capacity is 500lbs.. my cultipacker would be 700+ unless I shrink the width less than tire width.. not a big deal I guess my tires will act as coultipackers if i make it as wide as the inside of my tires (closer to 4ft)
