Bad Teeth

This skull is from the bear I killed last May. I had it in the freezer and finally got around to cleaning it this week. I didn't realize the teeth were this bad. He must have been in some serious discomfort.

When I killed this bear, I was pretty sure the skull would measure over 18". There was some pretty significant ground shrinkage as far as the skull went. Anybody that's seen this picture says that it's got to be P&Y because of the width between the ears. The width measures 6 4/16ths, but the length is only 9 11/16ths. Weird old bear for sure!

How old and what did it weigh? Boar or sow

I don't know how old it was. I'd estimate his weight between 230 to 250.

WOW that bear must've been hurting.  I cleaned a Maine bear for a guy and almost all of its teeth were worn down flat.
