When is enough enough. Was shopping today looking for a second 2 piece rod blank to build for baja mexico roosterfish. So i come across a new 2019 odm evolution 1-6. stunning to the eye with the chameleon change of color. And pretty light compared to my odm nex1 2-6 11' blank. Has anyone used, demoed or built this rod. With a price tag of 380$ for a blank. just currious if it s worth that kind of cash before I pull the trigger and buy one for myself.

Have you ever fished for roosterfish from the surf before? Awful lot of fun.  We used lures called Roberts Rangers.  The fish would slam those lures on the surface.  Had to reel in as fast as you could, the lure was out of the water just as much as it was in.

First time. I allready have the red and gray head ranger blue was sold out. I also picked up a m4 designs3.5 ounce squid rockets. I'm looking for a 12' 4-10 blank so i can toss the bigger seabile stick shads and gt ice creams 5 ounce pencils. The further the cast the better. My go to set up is a 12' blackhole east coast 2-6 and a slammer 3 8500hs

I used my 11 ft Penn pravail with a Penn battle 2  spooled with braid and fluro leader . Throwing  mostly 3 ounce lures but some bigger as well supper far into to the surf down in Cabo .  Also have a 12 ft Penn pravail casting rod that I Chuck bait plus 8 ounces weight far into the surf as well..  both worked great in the surf down there .

Damn that's a lot for a blank. Good luck with it if you get it. Sounds like you plan on some serious fish while there.

does that reel them in, fillet and package  ... i still have the same 9' surf pole and reel i bought in 1987 for $100... thats if my brother lets me have it back
These are plugging rods. Not meat stick s. And the new nano and matrix and duel helix
, materials and designs
Are expensive. Buy wile your casting 250" and I'm standing next to you throwing the same plug 425' and catching fish that you can't reach. It s all worth it. And if I chews to flip it I got 500$ Bill hanging in my rafters

In 2008 coda boy and I had baby ulas made for pencil popping,at the time e top of the line made by seeker.. dont get me wrong I still love that rod and is the only surf plug rod I currently have.  I have thrown some of codas rods and the difference is night and day with the materials used and so much lighter..
