Shield or Daiwa BG would be my choices.

Never liked penn.

Shimanos customer service has gone down the tubes.

Never had a problem with shimmano cs but than again since I got my saragosa and stradic in 2008 I've brought to grumpiness for service and never have issues

SHIMANO THUNNIS C14

I am not a Penn fan....never would buy another. I bought a few bait runners type Penns a few years ago and they all locked up when livelining stripers. That was enough for me. I stick w Shimano. No better out there.

I know how you feel, I had hybreds turn two shimano baitrunners into wobbling messes.

I never saw it in the shimanos....

Believe me I used to love shimanos, both reels had 10lb fireline on them and a couple hard runs left them wobbling on retrieve afterwards. Seems to me quality in shimano only starts when you spend $250-$350, anything less and they’re junk destined to a short life. Just my opinion

Try one of these. Last long time. You can use line from 2lb-100lb. 0 ball bearings, rust proof and maintenance free. And light weight. Can buy in 6 pack or buy the case
