I never made the all pro team . I enjoy myself and do not give a crap what others think. 

I too had a similiar situation while salmon fishing the great lakes. Fought one for like 40 minutes .

Got right alongside the boat and the gaff broke it off. I could see it was bigger than anything we caught but he kept saying that was a huge one! all day he said it! 

We limited out but nothing that size.

I suck at fishing, so nothing pisses me off that anybody does or doesn't do.  I'm probably the pisser, not the pissee.  There was one time, though, when the mate turned and said, "that was the biggest bluefish I ever saw" after I fought it for 15 minutes, and he missed it with the gaff, knocking it off.  Still eats at me, but I didn't get pissed at the guy.  Think he felt worse than I did.

A very long time ago (50 yrs)  I won the pool on a fluke boat, I asked the mate how much that fish weighed He told me about 4 lbs,  but it would be 7 lbs in the newspaper.
