Hot Water Heater replacement?

Hi Guys, I have to replace the 75 gallon natural gas hot water header in my house. Ballpark what should it cost me and any recommendations on brands and plumbers, Somerset county. Thanks

I just did mine although mines 50..  if you are any kind of handy it's not hard..  my old one was soldered in..  I cut and used flexible shark bites with threaded female end to go to connections on heater

I upgraded to a tankless.  Bought it off of Amazon for about $1K and had a handyman install it.  Took him about a day with help to replace the old one.

I strongly recommend tankless, especially if you have a lot of women in your house.  You never run out of hot water, and it is a lot more energy efficient.

I vote for Tankless too -- I've had one for 12 years -- I'll never go back to a tank

The rinnai I bought was $1000 and I installed it myself -- took a full day being it got moved to an outside wall for direct venting

Save yourself some easy money,buy a new heater with the same dimensions, like stated above pick up a couple of shark bites to re-connect and install it yourself in less than an hour.

I did what Bucky said a couple years ago took about an hour including taking the old one out. I think I spent $700 on the water heater and less then 100 on connections

It will probably cost you around $2500 or more if you have a contractor put it in.  Most heaters come with a 6 year warranty but you canpay extra money for additional 4 years.

?? 2500....no way.  Go w a bradford white. It will cost 1700-2000 max

I just did mine as I said bought from home depot reheem 8 year warranty 50 gallon was 699..  not sure if it matters but self cleaning.  I take a very hot shower and me and wife have not run it out yet with back to back showers

I purchased the same size from Home Depot, my brother in law installed it.....about one hour

I wouldn’t buy a water heater from Home Depot totally different heaters at the supply house.

Obviously it would  be cheaper of u do it yourself but if you dont have the skill set dont do it!!!!!! Its so easy until something goes wrong and flood your basement.  Personally I would get a Bradford white. Get a few estimates and verify all contractors.

What do you do with the old water tank.In some towns they won't take it with the garbage without a permit on the tank. You can always dump it at a Wildlife management area. lol

Find nearest scrap yard. Any professional should include disposal in price.
