Popular Post 06roadking
Most of you have seen my 1950 Ford F1 pickup that I restored and modified. I just finished a beautiful 1968 Dodge Polara convertible with a 318ci engine. Came out great and runs like a top. I just acquired a 1966 Plymouth Belvedere II convertible with a 318ci engine and with, very rare in a convertible, dealer installed air conditioning. Been working on it for a couple of weeks and now runs beautifully and goes down the road great. This car had been sitting for 20 years in a garage because the woman’s husband, who is now deceased, tuned it up and could never get it running after that. I checked it out and it had no spark after putting new points, condenser, cap and rotor in it. Took the cap off and low and behold, the distributor wasn’t turning when it was turned over. Thought maybe it broke the timing chain but after checking things out, found that when the last guy put points in it he dropped the tiny screw that holds down the condenser down into the bottom of the distributor which, seized the distributor and snapped the distributor shaft when he turned it over. Pulled the shaft out of the distributor, welded it up, straighten and polished it in the lathe and reassembled it. Runs like a top! Thought maybe some of you motor-heads might be interested...here’s some pics of my small collection. A before and after of my F1. Yellow one is the Polara and the red one is the Belvedere II. Also just got word that my 1950 Ford F1 is going to be on the cover and profiled in the LMC truck parts catalog this summer! Very proud and excited for that! LMC(Long Motor Corp.) sells antique and classic truck parts for restorations and always does a beautiful cover. Horn63
Great work! I love the red convertible! I have a 66 GTO convertible I bought when I turned 16.I am now 55 so it was a few years ago! Stripped it to bare metal and painted it Barrier Blue. I must have blown up 3 or four engines. If you never put headers on a Pontiac you don't know what fun is! 06roadking
