People definitely suck! I  would look around the area  I bet it was thrown not too far from there.  Not the first time I have seen or heard of people taking the bottom sections of a ladder stand

F'ing scumbags. I would venture a guess it is a frustrated guy who has never killed a decent buck in his lifetime and wants to make sure the next guy/gal doesn't either. Karma is a bitch and will eventually catch up to the scumbag.

That's why I cable lock all the sections together on my ladder stands and cable lock each section of my climbing sticks to the tree people just plain suck.

Same thing happened to me in season.. wasted my whole PM pulling my stand down and not hunting..

I hope they get a heart attack and the raccoons feed on the carcass overnight like when I catch them on my cams raiding my bait piles... ha

Borrow a set of ladder sticks to get it down .

That sucks .   You may have to cut the straps with a pole pruner to get it down unless you have another bottom ladder section to get it out .

Unfortunately its not a good idea leaving anything in the woods.  Carry in and carry out.   People can be true scum.
