Creek bassin

It's too nice out. Grabbed the pole went for a shed hunt/hike with weapons/ fishing adventure. Small yellow jig with pink Berkley mousetails were killing it. Probably caught 20 fish. No sheds found but enjoyed the day. Size was from 1/2 pound to this girl probably 2 lbs. Pretty big for a small creek.

That's a blast catching them in creeks nice catch. Have a little brook I fish that's full of smallmouth and it's a lot of fun catching them.  I like catching them more in moving water.

With the rain we ve had current was swift. Definitely pushed them into deeper pools. Also caught a bunch of shiners on lure as well. Never had them hit a spinner.

Jig with Berkley mousetail. With a split shot they wouldn't touch it. Without the split shot almost every cast they would nail it. The natural falling of the jig must have been the attraction.

Lol in pic I'd caught like 6 fish with that mousetail it was destroyed I wacky rigged to get one more cast from her and got that bass!! Lesson learned being a cheap f#ck resulted in a bass lol.

Had the same thing happen to me w a slugo long before wacky riggin was even a "thing"....won a few tourneys that way before it caught on!  Lol

Nice. The other day I went shed hunting i thought about bringing a rod but decided not too. I know i never would have made it shed hunting if I fished.

@Buck154 that's probably why I didnt find any sheds lol.

@hunterbob1 I think it's either genetic or result of the water color in the creek. It was a cool shade of green.
