Enjoying some Pennsylvania state land

Recommended Posts

Back on campus after spring break and already starting to go stir crazy. Took the 30 min drive to the closest piece of state land and went for a walk.

No sheds today but came across an almost completely intact buck skeleton. Third from last ribs being broken suggests a liver shot that was never recovered.

Props to you north jersey guys that are productive in this terrain. It kicked my butt today for sure lol. I’m used to flat ground and ag fields but I did enjoy the change of scenery.

Pennsy woods are so much nicer than they are here.  Did it have at least 3 scoreable (1") points on a side?  Might even be 4 points there.  Might have been shot, than the hunter left it when he saw it wasn't legal.  Seen that a couple times.  That's the worst part of AR.  Nice pics.  Keep up the hiking and it will get easier.

Wow I didn’t even think of that. Yes it technically would have only three scorable points total. No browtine on the left and a broke off tine. 2 points on the right with a nub of a brow tine. What a shame.
