Is there any scrap guys on here?   I have a 75 gallon water that is empty and already in the driveway to be taken away.  PM for further details if interested.

We're all scrap guys on this site! Just some of us are lower down on the scrap pile than others! Best advice above , curb it some enterprising person will remove it.

Whenever I want to get rid of scrap I put it at the curb and someone takes it.  I still have no clue who but, it works.  I am happy and so are they.  Win Win

Who takes it? Probably the guys on this site who melt it down to make their own Bucktails!

Believe it or not in my town you can get a ticket for picking stuff up at the curb. The township says that when it’s at the curb, it’s their property. I found this out the hard way. A drunk in our neighborhood drinks Coors Light in cans and filled his recycle buckets with aluminum cans. I used to stop and dump them in the back of my truck and bring his pail in for him. He loved it. When the cop stopped and informed me the it was township property when it got to the curb, I asked how that was possible when it was in a county recycle bucket. He didn’t have an answer but, he then told me that I could be cited for an open alcohol container in my truck. I could see where it was heading so, I just left it alone...

a local town passed something making it illegal to pick up trash but it bit them in the ass they didnt think about all the furniture and other non metal things that are picked up  nearly doubling the amount of trash they have to deal with...

Why in the world would the local government BAN you from taking something someone else is throwing out??? Either you plan on reusing it, refurbishing-and-selling it,  or recycling it.  Either way, you are putting it back into use and the local government won't have to pay to pick it up and throw it away in a landfill! Win-win! What is the possible motivation to prohibit people from doing this??

The reason towns frown on guys taking things set at the curb for the garbage man is their is always one slob that kills it for everyone.  When windows are out they leave broken glass on the ground and take the aluminum. Grills, they take the aluminum and leave plastic and other parts on the ground. Or they just shuffle through a neat pile looking for the good stuff and leave the pile a mess. My advice, grab what you want, take the whole item and leave.
