Tons of great suggestions as far as ideas go......Like said, not the most expensive tent is needed, but a rain guard is a must. We used to camp in Stokes overnight when the kids were small right next to the Flatbrook at Lake Ocquittunk .......Clean, public rest rooms nearby, clear running spring water with a pump spout, etc....Depends how far you are looking to go......The link is below.

Like this gentleman said Stokes is a great place to start, my Buddy works for Stokes Park service and they also have cabins and lean tooos which might not be a bad idea for the first time if you want to break your daughter into camping slowly, either way you will have a blast and lots of memories!

   Good Luck !
