First Finds of the Off Season

Put a couple miles in dissecting a piece I hunt today. Unfortunately found a dead head that looked to have great potential and and a tiny shed that must have crazy genetic potential for how small the shed is. Has anyone found a 4pt shed so small? Happy to find something. When I found the small shed I was just about to call it quits. Good luck out there, find some bone!

Nice find,  but it's a shame about the dead head.  He would have been a nice one.

That shed looks like last years (at least). Any sign of that buck this past season?

I never shed hunt. In the years I been walking around in the woods I hardly ever find sheds. It doesn't look like a very productive effort except for exercise.

And @Greybeard This area seems to have good genetics lots of real nice rack bucks and young bucks that are sporting 4-6 points. Ill keep my eye out for him.

Nice deadhead.  I always wonder if a deadhead was shot, or died another way.  I found one a season ago buy a brook that was recent, and found out later that the area had ehd after finding does that were dropping like flies along another brook.

I'll be watching my back for you.

@Greybeard Man what a shame. Hope they bounce back for you. And I did my best "forensic research" on the deadhead and carcass I came across. Did not see any broken bones or ribs. My guess would be a gut shot of somekind because he was tucked way back into a switchgrass/cattail thicket. Would have much rather seen him walkin around. Good luck.
