Looking for a 3pt hitch cultipacker for under $500.. if anyone knows of any please lmk. (Prefer north jersey)

Keep checking craigslist. That is where I found mine. Also a big farm auction near wantage in the spring. Keep your ears open. Better off with a drill or planter though if you can get it, in my opinion.

Keep an eye on craigslist specifically Lancaster area. 

There is also a equipment dealer in Kutztown Pa that had a bunch of them. Also Wengers in Meyerstown Pa. They have a website. 

Most of the packers will be a pull behind. A pull behind will be better as you could get a heavier one and It will follow the contour of the ground better.  A 3 pt you will be limited to what your tractors 3pt can lift. The heavier, the better as with all farm equipment. 

Good luck finding one local, I bought mine in Ohio and hauled it back. 

Also, lowes and Hope Depot sell a lawn roller you fill with water, can be pulled with an atv or lawn tractor. I have one and keep it at my farm in Illinois. I do a combination of small plots and stip plots out there and pull it with my quad.   Probably around $200

Even after I drill my seed, I still pack it afterwards. If you buy one. Make sure the roller is wider than the rear tractor tires. Mine is a little shorter so I always have tire marks in my plot
