Palawman30
Picked up a project car to have some fun with. Its a 69 Pontiac lemans GTO judge clone. Its got a 4 barrel carb 350. Motor and tranny are perfect. I drove it home on the Ac expressway and she ran great. Needs some body and interior work. Ive rebuilt to many boats and had to change it up for this year. Ive got to do the front suspension and Im going to change the front drums to disc brakes with a conversion kit. Spent Brass
I would do the rear disc conversion also.Is the motor stock? 4 bolt mains? Is it auto or manual ? Sweet car body doesn't look bad at all from the pics how are the rockers and trunk pan.Was the gas tank ever replaced might be something to look into.Cars are a lot of fun but just like a boat just a hole you throw money into haha.Good luck with her if you are close and need a hand just let me know I am a tech with 20 years behind me. Hunting and fishing is not a sport to me its a way of life:rock:
Palawman30
Ill definitely end up do the rears also.. Its a stock 4 bolt Pontiac blue engine. Auto trans. Rockers are decent. The very bottom of rear quarter got some cancer. Truck pan is looking like swiss cheese!!! Towers and frame are in good shape. Rear axel I think is shot. Left bearing wearing through. I have an axel from a 72 tempest with 30000 miles on it that I was going to put in. Needs from bushing, idler, ball joints, springs basically a new suspension. I saw the kits on ebay very reasonable. The plan is not to make a show stopper but have a nice driveable car. Matty
Projects can be a ton of fun. My first street bike was a project bike that my uncle and I rebuilt. It was a very rare racebike from Japan, a VJ22 (RGV-250) that I got for $500. We rebuilt the motor and replaced everything that was worn out and broken (almost everything) lol. Rode it for a few years but with the crazy drivers around here I decided to stop riding. Ended up selling it for $4500 to a collector in MA. Now sadly my projects consist of keeping the families hunk of junk vehicles running down the road. lol Not nearly as much fun! hahaha... Enjoy it!
