Todays Hacklebarney Still hunt results in team 4 Buck upgrade

.. Well, went out this morning with the shotgun just to see if i could withstand the extreme cold.. I did no problem thanks the absence of any wind.. while i was out i stalked up a decent buck but couldnt get closer than 50 or 60 yards..  Was loaded up with 12 guage 3" 00 magnums and wasnt sure how it would pattern out that far so... Let it go...

This afternoon i had planned on using the compound from a stand on County park land but, the road leading to my parking spot was closed for some reason..  Went back home and grabbed my shot gun and went back to the same place i was in the am..  Still hunted down to a spot i had seen signs of feeding and bedding that morning.. moved further in from that area and came to a finger in the terrain that over looked some thick brush.. perfect spot for deer i  thought..  Looked over the area real good .. didnt see anything but i was convinced this was the place to be.. started looking for a place to take a squat when i saw motion about 70-80  yards out  in the thickets below.. it was a buck.. a small 6 pointer.. a few seconds later i saw more movement.. a bigger buck.. but only 4 visible points..Like crab claws.. i froze in my tracks.. watched the two of them browse for a bit as they made their way towards me.. The dinker 6 was getting closer and closer while the bigger one stayed back.. It ( the dinker ) came within 20 yards as i just stood there pretty much in the open. finally the bigger one started moving my way and came within 50, then down to 40  or so before he started looking a little uncomfortable..  I was gonna wait and see just how close he would come but it looked like it was time to fill him with lead.. and so i did..

He gave me a broadside shot and was knocked sideways but not down.. at the same time the smaller buck darted right at me and got within 20 feet before making a left turn and runing right passed.. meanwhile the  bigger one darted off into some open woods on 3 good legs. One of the legs apparently caught some 00 and was broken clean in half... found out anyone who thinks a deer cant haul a$$ on three legs has no clue what they are talkng about.. anyway he dropped dead about 75 yards later.. meanwhile the smaller buck decides he doesnt want to leave the bigger one so he darts right back by me headed off towards his fallen friend... If i had another tag i probably would have dropped him for just being too stupid..

Its been awhile since i've shot a buck while still/stalk hunting.. Yeah maybe i coulda waited longer hoping to get something with a little bigger rack  but, the seasons end is just around the corner, my team needs more points, and again the freezer went bare so.....I bagged it...

You add camo to anything, it immediately becomes cool.
