Nice Jay!  Would you say eye placement is tough, especially on animals such as fox, coyote, bobcat etc?

The reason they might seem harder on those predator type animals is because you can see both eyes and they are a lighter color so you can see the pupils side by side.
Taxidermists that have an issue setting eyes on furbearers have the same issue on deer heads, the difference is you dont notice it as easily because the eyes aren't on the front of the head side by side.
Take a flashlight and shine the glass eyes in your deer mounts. compare your deers right and left eye pupils . They should be level with eachother and 99% of the time level to the ground. If they are not, then odds are whoever mounted it will have a harder time with predators. If they are perfect, it should be no different than setting the eyes on a furbearer.

Sometimes the issue is the hand painted eyes we buy have 2 different size pupils. That's something you don't always notice until the mount is going together and you dont always have extra eyes the right size on hand to mix and match. It pays to buy $20 eyes rather than $9 eyes.

Any animal - the eyes and ears make or break the mount.

Those are awesome!  Question - do you/can you turn the ears on a small furbearer similar to what is done on a deer/bear, or are they preserved in a different manner?
