When I was doing tree work full time  ( late 70’s early 80’s) 

my favorites were 

020 for in tree  14”bar

028 in tree and limbing 18” bar

038  20” bar 

048 24” bar.

When i was a climber i pretty much used the 020 exclusively and the 048 when on the ground

I got to admit I was afraid to open when I saw the title. Thought it was going to be a picture of my ex.

only used a bigger saw when the 020 wasn't big enough  in tree doing take downs, normal pruning was only an 020.

did use a few climbing saws before I had enough $$ for the o20, started with a homelight xl, then a solo 15

had a few trees I had a homelight   750 in .

fun having that hanging on my side.

we also used a few 032 to just do limbing on the ground. they were super light to work with .

 

somedays feels like that was yesterday, others it feels like 3 lifetimes ago

My son and I just finished cutting up over two cords of wood today. My MS310 ran great! Me not so much.

I knew the guy that owned Allendale Equipment Co. He owned 300 acres of woodland in NY State and he cut A LOT of wood. Only used Stihl saws.
