Mavis Tires, Poor Customer Service

My nephew needed tires for his car, and knew what he wanted but being young he wanted the best price he could find and stay local to Clifton area.....So he searched the internet and found the best price for that tire at Jack Williams Tires which is located in PA.....He sent that information to Mavis Tires via their web page, 15 minutes later the CS called and they indeed will price match, they sent him a email with a confirmation number and was told to give it the store.....So yesterday he went to have the tires put on, the store said they didn't need the number cause they already have all information. So he went home and waited, a few hours later his car is ready and the price was $40.00 more then the price match, the store said this is the price of the tires so my nephew being young paid for it. He did call CS, told them what happened and gave the order number, and they refused to honor their on policy. My brother in law then called and still they will not honor it. I have a Mavis by me and I have used them only for a flat tire repair, I'm glad I use Woodman416 tire shop

I went to mavis for my tires on my new to me truck this summer, they price matched ford who was the cheapest for yokohama's At go15.

Customer service was ok, but you can tell the tech was a lazy PoS who used the tire machine to remove my old wheel weights instead of taking them off before hand and with out scratching the shit out of my rims. My rims are beat and have curb rash on them, so not the end of the world, but still irked me.

I will look elsewhere next time.

I would never go to one of them places..I know a guy who's son is a manager for a Mavis and his dad would always make the comment that his kid is the biggest bullshiter so Mavis fits him great because of what he can get the customers to buy ...plus I know the kids personally and I wouldn't let him touch the driverseat in my car let along take the wheels off and trust him to put them back on..

It's scary what some places will try to squeeze out of you. Moved recently, not knowing any reputable places around I just went to Meineke. Told them I'm pretty sure I need new wheel hub assembly because of way truck was acting. They come back to me and claim I need two new assembles and two new CV axles. $1600 please. I had the truck towed back to my house. I really only needed 1 new axle that did have a leaky boot and I did ruin one assembly, which ultimately I had to buy a new rotor too. Cost me my time learning to do it and maybe $350-400 in the parts...unreal.

Tried to do same thing recently to my girlfriend. Told her she needed new cv axle just going in for a regular oil change. $585 please. I went and got the part myself for $100 and did it in the driveway in a few hours.

My nephew got a call from the regional manger who was professional and nice.....But the kid said to him...Why would I submit a price match from a store well over one hour from me if it wasn't a big difference ?  so the manger said, he will look more into this and get back to him....told him, they may give you a credit at the store

They bought out the employee owned STS and fired most of them. They are terrible. I had a tire get cut by a rock when I was deer hunting a few years ago had dropped the tire off with them. This was a Saturday and the manager said that they will have it done on Monday. I told him no problem. At that time, my father was very sick and I had to go to Virginia that Monday. I called Mavis to tell them that I'll pick it up on Wednesday when I got back. Wednesday comes and I pull in to pick up my tire and they bring it out on a steel wheel. I said that I dropped it off on the factory Chevy aluminum wheel. They looked at me like I had two heads. I told them that they better find it. 45 minutes later, they found it in the junk pile. They were pissed that they had to switch it and I knew that they were going to mess it up. Sure enough, after driving part way home, there was a terrible vibration because, the wheel weights fell off. I then went to my friend's shop and they fixed it. I'll never go back there.

I used Costco first time this fall. Was happy with the service.

Costco cs is good, but the kid that sold me tires showed me a selection that would fit my truck.  Then, when I went back to have a slow leak fixed, they told me the tires were the wrong size for my truck and replaced them all with new at no charge.  Kid was already fired.

I also went back after 20,000 miles to have an object removed from my wives tire under the road hazard policy, and they told me the damage couldn't be repaired.  They measured the tread to determine a price reimbursement on a new tire, and didn't charge me at all for a new tire.

I go to professional tire, michelin place in Newton, now.  No problems there.

I use the Mavis (former STS) in Creamridge.  Been going there for 10+ years.  Same employees from when it was STS.  Always good service and they never try to sell me more than what I came in for.

I thought, growing old would take longer !

I spent most of my money on shotguns and fly rods.  The rest I just wasted.
