any one fish Merril Creek this time of year from shoreline

Reports show that Lakers and big Bows swim the shallows during the winter ice is out looking for small bait fish. Last I fish was during the fall from the Yak and killed the smallies.

Love Merrill creek. However I never fished from shore. Only from a canoe.

I know the bows should come up shallow but not sure if the lakers will that shallow.

Last time I was there it was filled to capacity and not as much shoreline available.

My rule of thumb has been whatever the wind speed is on your preferred weather app add 10mph as soon as you get out of the boat launch cove.

I have done well from the shoreline at this time of year. I have also caught lakers from the banks.  Most of the lakers I caught from shore were caught on yellow power bait. Merrill creek fishes basically the same way round valley does at this time of year.

You never know until you go. I have caught all of the trouts and the lake trout char from the shoreline over the years.

How did u wack the smallies??  I think that lake is on my bass club schedule mid summer this year. I never fished there.
