I have been looking at a small bay home for a getaway in Fortescue area. Anyone been hunting down there? I see they have a ton of WMA’s. Want something we can relax in the summer and I can use as a base amp for waterfowl. Any info would be appreciated

I go crabbing every year at Beaver Dam up there on Main Street about 4 miles north. Almost always see turkey on the side of the road on the drive down.

There are more turkeys down there than you can count, the only creature more abundant than turkey are CHIGGERS THERE A ZILLIONS DOWN THERE.

Bugs are bad and not much around Fortescue.  Lots of Duck hunting in Delaware Bay and surrounding marshes from Salem to Cape May. You should look around Heislerville along western cape may co.

I don't have personal experience, but talking to a friend a few days ago, he said he used to duck hunt down in  Salem county and said the main hunting areas/boat ramps get congested with a huge amount of waterfowl hunters (particularly on Saturdays). Sees a lot of Delaware license plates on trucks, too - so you are competing for space with out-of-state hunters as well as NJ hunters.
