The best cold weather hunting hat there is?

Hi,

I’m always looking to upgrade my hunting apparel - as in the case of cold weather hunting hats. In my opinion, I already own the best 3 but there is always room for improvement.

Raven Wear Noggin' Boggin'

Sitka Incinerator Gtx Hat Optifade

Alpaca Hat Windstopper Sportsman's Hat

What do you consider to be the warmest hunting hat available?

Hats don't cut for warmth!Full head you'll preserve body heat!https://www.amazon.com/Woolx-Merino-Wool-Balaclava-Heavyweight/dp/B00MTNVEVK

To your point - I wear a Cabela's Berber Fleece Balaclava under my Raven Wear Noggin' Boggin' for maximum warmth. I have even gone to the point of putting my parka hood-up over the balaclava/hat combo while taking a 40 minute ATV ride to the stand during a rifle hunt in Wisconsin last November.

I noticed a huge difference when I started using a dickie combo. The dickie tucks into your jacket and hugs your neck. Most of my heat was being lost around the neck area. This is not a bulky product and i usually dont put it on until I am in the stand to avoid sweating too much and overheating. It is nice because it tucks down around your neck and out of the way when you don't need it but can be pulled up and around your ears when you do. The combo if you can find it is a fleece skull cap that zips onto the dickie.

Don’t really like the baseball cap when it’s cold it always leaves a open space on my forehead to get chilly! Haha

I really only wear one if sun is in my face or it’s snowing because it creates a much bigger profile on the head when looking around giving the deer more to spot. Prefer a boonie hat when it’s warm because it’s consistent as the head turns.

I wear a light weight camo balaclava all season . found I can move all I want and deer seem to never look for more than a second.

Really think face shine draws way more attention to them than anything when they catch movement

Me too, I have a lightweight Firstlite merino balaclava that I wear just about every hunt and layer up from there with hats and gator. I was raised hunting with a face covering for deer and ducks so now it’s just ingrained to wear something over my face.

I also believe all animals, including us are instinctually designed to pick out a face for their safety.

I wear a UA balaclava all season long as well for the same reason.
