This was a very bad idea from the start. The chucker's  did not disburse well due to the weather conditions and bunched up. Hunters shot non fliers on the ground and didn't bother to pick them up. I cut away from the insanity and hunted the power lines. The dogs found three chucker's and a cock bird.

Christ!!  Smart move avoiding the hysteria over the partridge parade!!

Just wondering.....did the chukars feet have crap all balled up on their toes like the quail used to have??!!??

I remember shooting quail in Greenwood and seeing this foot crap phenomena......and saying to myself......wtf am I doing out here!!??!!  They have trouble during lift off due to the extra load of balled up foot crap between their toes, and im tryung to cancel their flights with some good hot 20 gage #8s.....

Charlie does well along the power lines. Every time I run into him he has a bird or two.

Went to Greenwood with my son and two others and 2 dogs and we missed our limit by 2 quail.

The guys are spread out and its nothing like the Colliers or Assunpink start.  Yes, lots of shooting but hundreds of yards between shooters and dogs.

Just that lots of shots are not taken because of low flying birds over the dogs or if you're in the thick pine trees.

I thought, growing old would take longer !

I spent most of my money on shotguns and fly rods.  The rest I just wasted.

I wouldn’t want half the guys I see pheasant hunting, hunting quail scary thought. I always go after the crowd pushes through first or show up a little after sunrise I always do well on both pheasant and quail I have no complaints I got my money worth x100

First, I hunt quail with your friend, not mine, Kevin and his dog Storm.

Second, the quail hunters, in my opinion, for the most part, seem to be a more gentlemanly group and not out to shoot up the countryside.

Third, at the start the guys are spread out usually fields apart and very rarely during the hunt will they cut in front of you if you're working a field or patch of woods.

It is 100% different then at the pheasant stocked WMA's which I will not go at start time.

Check with Kevin.... I think we're going New Years day !
