The Last Week.

I'm heading down either tomorrow afternoon or early Monday morning to my mom's place in Virginia. It's the last week of deer season. So, my last time to go after the elusive Palmanator. My son has not seen him in the day time since August. We had him on camera in the morning a few times in November. But, he's been a ghost since then. I'm bringing my waders and plan on going into the big swamp to do some still hunting. My son and my brother will be posted on the outer edges of it. Not promising at all but, it's still worth a try. We will also be duck hunting since the swamps are full of Black ducks and Mallards. Should be fun. I'll keep you guys posted.

Good luck but, I really can’t believe you are even thinking about hunting anything else but him. Hunt the Palmanator or a duck :headscratch:

My son loves to go duck hunting more than deer hunting and is looking forward to it. I plan on deer hunting in the early mornings and late afternoons. The ducks are around all day long. There's hundreds of them close by.

Are you duck hunting on the same property you are hunting that big buck?

Only duck hunting the marsh by the house and barn. Hunting the swamp for deer. Another variable is that there will be a gun club hunting the adjacent properties for deer with dogs. They usually will push deer into our property. The last week usually brings out alot of hunters into the woods.

I can see why that deer disappears.  It looks like you have some crazy pressure going on down there especially with dogs chasing them and duck hunters blasting away.  That deer is probably living in someones barn the next county over and is completely nocturnal and probably damn near unkillable during legal shooting hours

I agree. My mom's farm is only 64 acres but, there are thousands of acres where he can hide. I'm going to check the other cameras when I get down there to see if he's on any of them and go from there.
