Going in the am for what I thought was the last stocking of pheasants of the season. Talked to one of my friends who stocks tonight and he said that ONLY Chukars were stocked at Flatbrook. I knew the state had an issue, but to be void of any remaining birds??

I guess it is what it is......Going to need a bunch for cutlets I think lol!  Going to try for some leftover ringnecks....

Another kerkuffle from the Division thrown at the hard working license buying sportsmen!!

I bought a pheasant stamp!!!!!!!!!!!

Not a chukar stamp!!!!!!!

Chukars suck!

There is absolutely no chance of coming across a chukar in February........but there are some spots that will hold pheasants into the spring.......or at least thru the end of February small game season.

The purpose of this post was not to bitch, but to give a heads up for guys travelling to hunt on the last stocking day not to expect many pheasants, other than leftovers. We hunted for 2 hours, put up 2 chukars in the first 5 minutes, then a hen that was wounded. The chukars flew about 2 feet above the ground past a guy who literally could have caught one if he stuck his hand out..That was it. Very few shots heard, maybe 6 which is unheard of for Flatbrook. Had a good season as the state stocked well overall. Was just crazy that they had to purchase Chukars to supplement not having enough birds...

Got one hen at pequest, no chucks, didn’t hear many shot. It didn’t even look like the stocking truck pulled in where I go. Driving down the road across from one of the park spots saw one chuck in someone’s driving way, meaning they prob just stocked them in the parking lot at that spot.

I went to observe the shitfest. The first shot was at a chukar on the ground and the kid missed it. It flew down the line and about 8 other guys missed. I probably saw 15 or more birds just watching from road. One came into the road and under a truck. The dog kept chasing it form one side to the other. Finally a guy walked over and stepped on the chukar since it would not fly. They were running more then flying. Some guys said they liked the change and others said "this sucks".
