Pa Deer Season

Well just got back from a LONG trip!

All in All it was a fun much needed productive hunting season.

Especially after spending so much time hunting a crappy lease in jersey. Not all jersey is bad! lol Just that lease was...

 

Anyway opening day saw my camp with 9 hunters out there with new snow and temps around 30 it was perfect!

 

We ended up with 3 bucks on the opener.

My youngest brother slammed a beautiful high racked 7 point with a 18" spread.

 

We hunted the next 3 days with fluctuating temps and low deer activity.

After the first day there was literally no one in the woods and the deer quickly got back to natural movement.

On Friday thefirstnsecond scored on a beautiful 8 pointer. we got another 8 also that day with my father missing yet another monster 8 earlier in the day. We ended the season going 5 for 9 on bucks with 3 being 8 pointers, 1-7 pointer and a 6 point.

 

We also had a 7 pointer hit and tracked over a mile to another hunter who dropped it. We almost went 7 for 9!

 

Then it was off to North Jersey!

Thats a great hunt Congrats to all  We got 2 on the opener in Potter and 1 on thursday we dont shoot does seen a ton of them. It was nice having snow on the ground

We hunt all week pretty hard. The most I seen at any camp was 1 besides ours. That's 2 years in a row weve got 5 bucks the first week. Id like to think were doing something right as far as just knowing where to be.

Thanks everyone. After a very tough nj bow season it was nice to just hang with friends and help in their successes. Especially my buddy thefirstnsecond....

I swear I saw a 350 lb man just leap clear off the ground at least 4" when he shot that beautiful 8 pointer this past friday in Pa. He yelled a big "YES I GOT HIM" I was literally laughing my ass off as this unfolded. I was very happy to see him score. Im glad hes finally listening to us when we try to get him into spots. Myself and my 2 younger brothers spend alot of time in those woods and every year seem to know where the highest concentration of bucks are. We all took great pride in seeing Lou finally tag a Pa buck. I can say without a doubt im happier seeing other guys score than myself at this point. Dont get me wrong I hunt to kill but ive killed alot. I like teaching and seeing the results of that even more now. Sometimes all you need are willing learners. Big woods hunting is without a doubt alot different than farm country hunting. Im not saying harder or easier just different and definetly my most favorite way to hunt.
