Didn't stop till I asked him if he needed help.all I got was a no and he turned around and walked away god I hate 6 day never have any problems the rest of the year. Hate to see where he would of gone if I wasn't here. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk "Don't forget that you're First Marines! Not all the Communists in hell can overrun you!" - Chesty Puller
BowhunterNJ Posted December 11, 2013 Author Posted December 11, 2013 Wow, that's ridiculous. I know, the one private piece I have, it's constantly unknown whether/when guys trespass there. I heard last year they drove the piece when I wasn't there. That's nice...posted and all, but they go on anyway.
Axiom Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 posted and all, but they go on anyway. So why then go out of your way to pollut the environment with those UGLY no trespassing signs.. Just sayin..
BowhunterNJ Posted December 11, 2013 Author Posted December 11, 2013 Why put gates up? Why put fences up? Why put locks on your door? Why have walls on your house? The same answer to all...you're trying to keep unwanted elements out of an area. Those ugly signs are meant to be ugly (i.e. grab attention) and people are expected to obey by them and the laws...but obviously not everyone does. "Good fences make good neighbors" - Not precisely the meaning behind that quote...in this case, it's quite literal.
Axiom Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Why put gates up? Why put fences up? Why put locks on your door? Why have walls on your house? The same answer to all...you're trying to keep unwanted elements out of an area. And so why do any of those things if they didnt work?.. Fact is they do so thats why u have them... But those no trespassing signs, by your own admission, dont work so, in effect, they are nothing but trash.. And trash belongs in the garbage, not in the woods IMO...
BowhunterNJ Posted December 11, 2013 Author Posted December 11, 2013 Well, they certainly work for some...not ALL people ignore them. It's like locking your trailcam. It won't stop a thief that wants it bad enough, but it will "keep honest people honest" by making it a little more difficult than just unstrapping it and taking it. Land wise, people are always looking around for places to go and maybe those posted signs (especially new ones) indicate someone is there (whether it's another hunter or the landowner) and they don't want YOU there. If you choose not to respect it and go on anyway, you are not "unknowingly" trespassing, you are intentionally trespassing. Truth is, without them, someone can sneak onto unposted property and "get off the hook" if caught the first time...worst that can happen is they are asked to leave and not come back. If they do come back or if they refuse to leave, then they are defiantly trespassing, which is a petty disorderly charge (in the case of a non-dwelling property, i.e. posted land, versus a dwelling structure, i.e. a house). So there is "value" to posting a property.
Hatchet Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Lol you forgot doors on the house BHNJ ! I was born n raised a 6dayer , in Medford my pop n our family was pretty much allowed to hunt where we wanted, if i t was posted n we didn't know the guy we stayed away. We were tought to respect others peoples property , today I follow the same . I could've easily dropped a nice buck just inches over the property line where I hunt but I passed cause that's how I was raised . Posted signs do there job , there would be a lot more trespassers if there were none! BowhunterNJ 1 You add camo to anything, it immediately becomes cool.
