Gave The Bears Some Goodies To Eat !!!

Before leaving today, I gave the bears 50# of corn & about 30# of various goodies......Granted I haven't had a bear on cam for 4 days, but not super concern as I found more bear crap in the area. This morning a friend of mine was hunting just under a 1/2 mile from me, he saw two bears that he estimated to be 100#  & 300# heading towards my area this was at 0930. I'm sure they or any bear will smell the goodies I put out, I'll be back out Friday to re-bait and check the cam

I think I'm going to start buying jelly donuts tomorrow...might save a few for the bears.

Like clockwork at 5:25pm, the past 2 evenings, my visitor showed up. I even found where he is climbing over a fallen tree and bedding on the opposite side of it, just 10 yards off the bait site in between his hourly evening visits.  Followed the scat trail for about 30 yards but then the woods open up and I really couldn't tell where he was heading. Walked around a bit but couldn't find any other sign, so I faced all 3 of my camera out from the bait area hoping that they will catch some movement and help fill in the blanks for me.

Robin, don't walk around to much you can scare the bears off, as they are under pressure now with hunters scouting. I remember the bear guide I used in Canada three times tell me.....At the bait site the bears get use to the human scent of the person putting bait out, he said the bear thinks of you as the waiter, but will not like other humans around. This one reason my friend I hunt with doesn't come near my bait area

BHC do you use the scent sticks from Deer Quest? They work great.

I just baited our spots for my crew for next week.  I hadn't been out here in NJ since last week while I was in PA for rifle deer season.  Let's hope some bears are still on their feet and out and about next week.
