BHC
The extended forecast is calling for cold temps, which doesn't help us bear hunters, the colder temps will make the bears goto sleep. We need average or higher to gives us a better chance, but the colder temps will keep the deer moving !!!

Axiom
If wildlife managers really want to increase the Bear harvest, they need to modify the hunting dates..Just sayin..
BHC
If wildlife managers really want to increase the Bear harvest, they need to modify the hunting dates..Just sayin.. they don't want to increase the kill, they just want to manage the population with a continue hunt
Axiom
From what i hear they would like to see a few more bears taken in Sussex county.. Alot of nuisance bears were killed and dump in BRWMA over the summer.. what a waste..
Bucksnbows
If wildlife managers really want to increase the Bear harvest, they need to modify the hunting dates..Just sayin.. They can't make any changes during the 5 Year Plan....not sure why so few hunters understand this. One more year of the plan after this season and then the Division can suggest changes to the Fish & Game Council for a vote in the next hunting code after the current 5 Year Comprehensive Black Bear Management Plan is completed. If we hunters push for either/both an earlier season and/or an archery season, the state will have no problems meeting their management numbers. Putting the hunting portion of the Plan during 6 Day means many of our bears are in dens by then and this year the 6 Day season is about as late as it can fall on our calendar making it even more problematic. PA recognizes this and has a bear season in front of their rifle deer season with some management zones in that state also open during rifle season. I dont think few hunters understand it.. I think they just dont know the plan cant be changed at the moment... An earlier season makes the most sense IMO.. Sykk Physh
Bucksnbows nailed .. There is plenty going on about the future of bear hunts.. But the council needs to deal with this 5 yr plan as agreed upon.. I do not agree with any of the kill permits for bears or deer .. I pay for my wildlife to managed not slaughtered.. Enough of these so called farm permits and depredation permits.. It's ok for them to $28 dollar us to death .. But to waste a renewable resource is piss poor management.. ELKHUNTJB 1 Capt.
