Saskatchewan Whitetail Hunt..

Recommended Posts

I was up in Northern Saskatchewan last week with some friends for a 5 days whitetail hunt. The weather was brutally cold, minus 10 degrees on the first day. It got a little warmer later in the week. Like 22 degrees for a high. lol

There was 18" of snow on the ground too.

I hunted out of a blind due to the cold temps. I had a Mr Buddy heater with me, but didn't need to turn it on. I was prepared for the cold and brought the necessary clothes I needed.

I watched a lot of deer and this guy was the biggest I saw for the week.

11 point, @280 lbs.

The meat was donated to a local family.

Thanks for looking.

“I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target, but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature’s way of fang and claw and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow.” – Fred Bear

Awesome dude! Great buck Sam! That's a hunt I definitely want to go on some day, except I'll probably turn that heater on when the temps dip into the negatives!

What did you shoot him with?

I took him with my Browning A-Bolt .280. He was maybe 45 yards away.

I got lucky with this one. :D
