In my ladder stand I have plenty of room for myself and crossbow to sit comfortably and non worry about dropping the crossbow overboard. In my climber, things are a bit more cramped and sitting without worrying about dropping it involves tucking a good portion of the stock under my armpit. Not the most comfortable position for long sits. I have an adjustable tree mounted bow hanger, but it requires entirely too much movement to reach over and grab it while deer are in the area. I bolted on a 3rd hand archery bow holder, but it seems like it might be a bit awkward to use the way it positions the crossbow.

What are you guys using to hold your crossbows in your climber stands while sitting for long periods?

I have the same hanger, but it requires a lot of movement to get it down, and into a position where it's ready to aim and fire

Off your rest, worm gear clamp 2 rubber coated u hangers on the side you shoot, no reaching up to get your harvest tool and you can bend /rotate them to your liking

Third Hand Archery product. I use it on all my stands including climber. It is permanently attached to the stand so there is nothing extra you have to bring with you.

I have one of these mounted to the top rail of my summit viper. It seems like it might be a bit awkward. I guess I will find out tomorrow afternoon

I have been using them for over 10 years. Don't find it awkward. Very easy to place it there and remove it with one hand without even looking at it. It is completely off your platform so it does not take any of your space. As soon as you get up, you hoist your bow, or crossbow and it goes right in without having to attach anything else to the tree.

And in case of an accidental discharge of the bolt, an occasional goose could supplement your larder.

The difference is my climber has a closed front so it would be very hard to reach over the rail if it were mounted to the platform. Right now I have it mounted on the top right side of the front rail and since it is up so high, it makes it a bit awkward to pivot and lift off of the bow holder while sitting , not to mention that the crossbow is on its side next to you, not upright.
