However, with the safe line attached on top so far away from the steps, how are you going to slide the prusik knot up or down when you get closer to the top??

None seen, not sure if some are here. Rusty would know better Mark.  We were joking earlier how the few we saw were the fastest ones in the state. Speed means survival, lol.
