I am reaching out on behalf my son Sam has begun to fundraise for his Eagle Scout project. here is his letter he wrote and we also have a letter from the fire chief  if anyone can help him in anyway it would be gratefully appreciated. you can send me your e mail and I can forward you the 2 letters that you can read and pass along to your company's and anyone who you think can help him achieve his goal of $5000.00 he needs to raise to complete this project.  Thank You for your support

   To Whom it may concern,

My name is Sam Guskind, and I am a member of Boy Scout Troop 145 in Clark, NJ. My

current rank is that of Life Scout and the next rank I will be working to achieve is that of Eagle

Scout, the highest award available in scouting. One of the many requirements for the rank of

Eagle Scout is to organize and complete a community service project and I must demonstrate

both my leadership and organizational skills.

The project I propose to complete is to build a monument in front of the Clark firehouse

dedicated to the victims of the 911 tragedy. This project will have a piece of steel from the

World Trade Center. My father has been a Clark Firefighter for the past 27 years, so I feel it is a

true honor and privilege to take on such an undertaking. One part of the project is raise funds

to purchase the materials needed to construct the monument and so I am writing to you today

to solicit funds. Any amount would be greatly appreciated. Please make all donations payable

to BSA Troop 145 c/o Jan Guskind 14 Lincoln Blvd 2nd Floor, Clark NJ 07066.

This project is not just meant for the innocent people who perished in the attacks, but

also for the brave men and women who went in to save them. My sincere hope is that

monuments and memorials such as this will remind future generations not of the horror of

those attacks but the bravery of those who responded to the calls. And those men and women

should be remembered for the rest of history. And this benefits the Clark Fire Department by

honoring those who have fallen and their families. We are dedicating this memorial on

September 11, 2014 so please feel free to come to the ceremony and help honor those who

have fallen as well to the members of the Clark Fire Department who manned Fire Stations

throughout New York City during this horrific event and there time volunteered at the Staten

Island Landfill.

Thank you for your consideration in this endeavor.

Sincerely,

Sam Guskind

What is your son's timeframe on and for the project? Has he reached out to local businesses to perhaps supply food (Pizza/KFC etc) and drinks on the work days for his project? Sometimes even the local Shop Rite and/or A&P will donate paper goods and bottled water for Eagle Scout projects. Also, when my son Michael was doing his Eagle Scout Project, one of our local restaurants had a specific night where 10% of their dinner proceeds were donated to his project. Just something for your son to look in to. Best of luck to him !!!
