Tell us about the shot.  That entrance would looks pretty high.  He must have been really close to the stand

When my bolt struck the deer it immediately knocked him to the ground. At first I thought I had made a spine shot but though the arrow struck him high in the back it took out his lungs. He  expired very quickly with no follow-up shot needed. I was 15 feet up in a ladder stand and the buck was close to 30-yads out when shot.
