Fluke Road Trip Success

Took a trip up to Fluke fishing paradise with my brother and a couple buddies. Nantucket shoals. It was our 3rd attempt this summer. Lost first trip to weather, second trip to mechanical problems, third time was a charm. Due to tidal conditions I was able to bucktail jig holding with 6 then 8 ounces.  The fluke were hitting pink shine and white gulp 6 inch grubs with gusto. My biggest fish was just under 10 lbs, with several 8's and 7's boated by my party. Sea bass up to 4 pounds were landed as a by catch. Dogfish were an occasional pest and were were visited by a seal. I recommend this trip for the serious fluker, you may just get that fluke of a lifetime. I plan on going every year I can.

I hooked up with a 6 pack charter out of Yarmouth. I am gonna go again next summer, hopefully in late June or early July when the bigger fish are more plentiful. This is considered late in their season,as spiny dogfish invade the deep drops that hold the bigger fluke. We had to keep in 100 feet and less to keep away from doggies. 5 hours to get to the cape, and 1200 for the trip.
